Chema's by the Sea

This a little resort that I went to a few weeks ago. It is on a small island near Davao city, in the southern Philippines. The name of the island is Island Garden City of Samal or IGCoS for short. IGCoS is really a beautiful place to go, as a vacation spot or even as a place to purchase a small retirement home. It is a place where lush green forest meets white sand beaches and crystal clear waters.

The name of the resort is Chema's By The Sea. The best way to get there is by taking a small boat from Waterfront Insular Hotel located in Davao city. That will cost you about 200 pesos ($4 U.S.) each way. You are required to make reservations for over night stays and day tours. For reservations call country code (63) area code (082) 303-0235, or 0917-8140814.

The beach is white sand and...... well, I will just let the pictures speak for themselves.

The swimming pool is right next to the sea, so it has a wonderful view. Proper swimming attire is required for utilizing the swimming pool.

The whole property is manicured to look like a golf course and flower garden at the same time.

Beautiful flower gardens can be found everywhere on the resort.

There are full restaurant facilities on the resort.

The restaurant is open air, very clean, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. You are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks. Bringing your own food is a hassle anyway. The food and beverage prices are cheap, so just come and relax.

The food is excellent and reasonably priced. I had the blue marlin steak with rice. There is a large variety of food on the menu to choose from. The serving size was plentiful and the plate was well garnished. The blue marlin steak with rice was about 130 pesos ($3 U.S.), plus drinks. I had a San Mig Light beer for around 45 pesos ($1 U.S.).

The rooms are extremely plush. They will cost you a little more than some other resorts in the area, but the extra money spent is well worth it. This resort is really a one hundred percent up grade for just a little extra money. I think it was about 3,500 pesos ($70 U.S.) per night for a two person room. The eight person room was a just over 8,000 pesos ($160 U.S.).

The bottom floor is like a clubhouse and the top floor is the owner's residence. You can order drinks from the club house and drink them at tables on the beach. My only recommendation would be to have Red Horse included to there selection of beer. I sometimes like to drink hard.

This resort is a nice place to bring the family. It was a nice relaxing day on the beach.

My family really enjoyed Chema's by the Sea beach resort.
